O’s Notes: This is a very engaging performance with Brenda’s resounding vocals complemented by dynamic musical accompaniment on “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”, the strong opener. She adds a taste of Brazil with “Vallo La Pena” and swings hard on “Nobody Else But Me”. We also liked “A Few Lines” featuring Jesse Lewis (g) and Brenda on the Fender Rhodes. These songs outweigh the pop selections to make Songs For A New Day a formidable effort.
