O’s Notes: Harris is a fine trumpeter with rich warm tones. Songs From My Heart is a collection of warm ballads that will resonate with almost any crowd. The music is not all slow. The program includes several up-tempo tracks most notably “Club Havana”, our favorite. Richard is a fine man who in 2007 was diagnosed with amyloidosis, a rare, progressive, debilitating, and fatal disease that begins in the plasma cells of the bone marrow, and for which, there is currently no cure. Harris has been battling the disease and has also pledged a portion of the proceeds from this recording for Amyloidosis Support. Buying this one will warm your heart and perhaps save another.
