O’s Notes: Todd plays drums and percussion. He gives us a serious dose of his talents by interleaving funky percussive interludes, about 2 minutes each, between each song. Those are worth the price of CD alone but the balance of the set includes some nice syncopated tunes like “Tiptoe” featuring Billy Drewes on sax and “Baiao Todd”. Isler wrote most of the music, some collaboration with band members, and a couple of covers notably Stevie Wonder’s “Bird Of Beauty”. We found it easy to engage with most of the beats and enjoyed the set.
