O’s Notes: This is Maria’s first release as a leader. She has been involved in music since her days playing violin as a child and she has a true passion for jazz. On Soul Eyes she is singing a dozen of her favorites. Guida selected a first rate band including bassist Dean Johnson and James Weldman on piano. Her voice is clear and well articulated and her tone is unique, pleasing a select audience.
