O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Keiko Matsui brings one of her best efforts yet on Soul Quest. it is a collection of all new smooth jazz infused with a wealth of talent. Will Lee (b), Marcus Miller (b), Andy Snitzer (sax) and Kirk Whalum (sax) are several of the starring musicians. Matsui also employs three arranger/producers: Derek Nakamoto (keyboards), Narada Michael Walden (d) and mostly Chuck Loeb (g, keyboards). The music flows like a calming breeze.
