O’s Notes: Dave is a veteran jazz guitarist now residing in Denver. But he spent 12 years in New York during the 1980s learning in the classroom at NYU and on the jazz club scene. This is his 4th release as a leader and he revisits his New York years including tunes by Kenny Baron, Joe Farrell and David Murray from the 1980s. “Sunshower” and a cool arrangement of “Bluesette” are highlights. Corbus has that warm big box sound that fits perfectly with this modern jazz CD.
