O’s Notes: Pakistani jazz guitarist, composer Rez Abbasi reflects on the loss of his mother on Sound Remains. He plays acoustic guitar exclusively here while leading a band with Bill Ware (vibes), Stephan Crump (b), Eric McPherson (d) and Hasan Bakr (perc). This is Abassi’s third recording with his working quartet plus Bakr. We found the bulk of the material to be pleasant highlighted by “Meet The Moment”, “You Are”, and “Spin Dream”.
