O’s Notes: Jazz pianist Randy Ingram leads a polished trio with bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Joe La Barbera. Sound Within is a celebration of the music of the legendary Bill Evans. The music includes two Evans originals, three Ingram originals, and four songs that were in Evans’ regular rotation. This beautiful recording is inspired by Evans, as opposed to an imitating him. Fortunately, each of these musicians have strong voices of their own combining to make this a fresh, enjoyable session. “Ezz-Thetic”, “My Foolish Heart”, “Remembrance” and the title track are highlights in a soothing session.
