Far more than just a title to draw you in, these pieces are inspirational and heartfelt. Vocalist Dean Bowman’s voice will ring clear in any church and it is prominent over several traditional gospel songs like “I’m Gonna Tell God” and “Nobody Knows”. The venue is split between these and more traditional jazz ballads. The connection is clear as the emotion and warmth is a common denominator. There’s no need to single out any individual musician as they all shine and together they perform, paying homage to their jazz forebears and inspiring you along the way.
