O’s Notes: Austrian jazz singer and producer Simone Kopmajer has a delicate vocal tone that has surprising power. She takes center stage in front of a quintet including pianist, coproducer Michael Urbanek. They put the“Spotlight on Jazz“for fourteen classic tunes. There are solid takes of “Pennies From Heaven”, “Mood Indigo”, “Stompin’ At The Savoy” and “Exactly Like You” with a little bit of New Orleans on “Struttin’ With Some Barbecue”. We also enjoyed the contemporary remix of “Dig The Riff” that kept us coming back!
