O’s Notes: The soft warm tones from Canadian vocalist Susie Arioli are always inviting and her latest release Spring is true to form. Her band is a 9-piece ensemble directed by pianist Don Thompson including Phil Dwyer on tenor sax and guitarist Reg Schwager. There are a dozen fresh arrangements of classic songs including Susie’s original title track. The music flows like gentle breezes around Arioi’s lyrics with complimentary accents and timely solos throughout the set. This is simply a joy to listen to.
