O’s Notes: Pianist, composer Mike Prigodich leads a quintet with John Nastos (sax), Damian Erskine (b), Reinhardt Melz (d), and Carmelo Torres (perc) for Stage Magic, his latest release. They have a vibe like vintage Spyro Gyra. We liked “A Measure Of Luck”, “The Spice of Life” with nice work by Erskine, the super syncopated “Kate’s Antic” & “A Charmed Life”, all punctuated by the closer, “The Wizard of Odd”.
