O’s Notes: German saxophonist, composer Tobias Meinhart leads a chordless trio with Rick Rosado (b) and Jesse Simpson (d) on his latest release Sunset Park. Their music reminds us of Sonny Rollins’ recordings in similar configurations. This is Meinhart’s first foray into the trio format and it works well.
