O’s Notes: J’ai has a gentle voice that works well on these light pop ballads. The groove is NAC music with clean lyrics. We liked the blues of “Sweet Corrine” with guitarist Bob Tucker shadowing her lyrics and “Words Out”. Michel is soothing on “Upside Down” and tries poetic spoken word on “Exactly Like You”. Dale Fisher (sax) and Katrina Dykes (background vocals) provide support on “It’s All Right Now”. J’ai takes some risk with unusual arrangement of covers like “Summertime” to make her album unique.
