O’s Notes: Joe’s fourth album for Heads Up has more than just a few smooth jazz cuts. Most of the songs have a soulful funky feeling with Joe (vocals and keyboards) and his Texas road band making the music breathe. Examples are numerous but we love the interplay on “Howzit In Dallas” – it’s on! He’s using more real instruments; a good thing.
