O’s Notes: Whitney has a wealth of experience including being a backup singer for the Spinners. But after years of setting up the stars, she steps into the spotlight with her debut as a leader. Angie sings a set of romantic R&B ballads. The beats are solid 1970s-80’s soul with clean lyrics and mild sizzle. There is good sax behind Angie on “That’s What Love Is All About” and a few other tunes adding to the romance. Producer Michael Sutton had a hand in writing most of the songs but Whitney throws in a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Now Baby Or Never” as well. “Sweet Love Affair”, a vocal duet with Michael Bolivar, was among the best of the lot.
