O’s Notes: One of the defining jazz-fusion bands was Return To Forever. Each of the original members has risen to star status with individual careers. Chick Corea (keyboards), Stanley Clarke (b). Lenny White (d) and Al DiMeola (g) took the jazz world by storm when they appeared in 1973. This compilation features the defining tracks from “Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy (’73), Where Have I Known You Before (’74), No Mystery (’75) and Romantic Warrior (’76). Our favorites were on the second disc, especially the super-syncopated “Dayride” and “Sofistifunk”.
