O’s Notes: These two cats can burn. This is a live session at Smoke in New York City. What a night it was with Eric (ts) and Vincent (as) trading leads. The supporting rhythm section was Mike LeDonne (p), John Webber (b) and Carl Allen (d). They play only six tunes half classics, Allen’s “Ritual Dance” and two penned by LeDonne. Each track allows ample room for The Battle to take place. The pace is fast and the intensity high with the winner being the listeners as they light it up combining their own characters with the a multitude of past influences.
