O’s Notes: Gauvin’s second album is even better than her first (Face of Love 4/4) which was well received. She is a dramatic singer that breathes new life into everything she touches. The material includes jazz classics, French ballads, Brazilian music (with beautiful Portuguese lyrics) and a couple of tunes from the American Songbooks. Marcelle is comfortable with each venue adding her own signature to bring the session together. Dino Govoni (sax) and John Harrison (p) also add strong performances.
