O’s Notes: Alexis is a vocalist and lover of many genres of music. She put this Holiday album together based on jazz arrangements that her father wrote for his graduation in music from Skidmore in 2007. It includes both vocals by Cole, a choir and several instrumentals. The arrangements of “Hark The Herald Angles Sing” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” are among the most unique. Fortunately they don’t drift so far from the originals to be unrecognizable. Among our favorites were “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” and “Christmas Time Is Here” featuring Alexis, Todd Barkan with Don Braden shadowing on sax.
