O’s Notes: The Kings of Jazz were the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, assembled in 1974 to tour Europe. This is one of the prized recordings from the Swedish concerts. The eight-piece band included Johnny Mince (sax), the organizer Pee Wee Erwin (t) and Dick Hyman (p). Fourteen gems are captured including “Wild Man Blues” and “Oh Sister! “Ain’t That Hot?”.
