O’s Notes: Guitarist, producer Adam De Lucia composed all the music for The Man Who Would Be King, his latest jazz-fusion release. The set opens with rich strings before guitarist Oz Noy lights it up with the pulsating beats from Cody McCorry (b) and Jordan Perlson (d), then taking it down a notch on “Gorilla”. They get funky on “Store On The Corner” anchored by Tim Lefebvre on bass with Michael Ghegan’s sax on top. We also liked “Day Regimen”, the cool breeze of “Will You Follow”, “Carousel”, and vocals from Gregan and Chrissi Poland on “Girl”.
