O’s Notes: Vocalist Lyn Stanley has a deep, warm tone that is romantic and inviting over a dozen“standards. She gets fine support from pianists Mike Garson, Tamar Hendleman and Christian Jacob. Joe LaBarbera (d), Ricky Woodard (sax) and Luis Conte (perc) are among the many other talented musicians on this recording.“The Moonlight Sessions“are a dozen classics re-crafted in Stanley’s own style. Her sultry take on “Why Don’t You Do Right?” is one of the best selections along with “Close Your Eyes”. We also enjoyed “In The Wee Small Hours” with harmonica accompaniment from Hendrick Meurkens. Super Audio (SACD) quality is excellent.
