O’s Notes: This is celebration of The Music of Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn, including a few of the lesser known gems from those volumes they composed. Trumpeter Vinnie Cutro performs the works with pianist Mitch Schechter. The simplicity of the duo allows us to enjoy the tone of their instruments and connect with the passion of their arrangements. We really enjoyed Vinnie’s work on “Lush Life”, “Prelude to A Kiss” and “Solitude” capping a fine performance of great works!
