O’s Notes: The Phoenix marks the return for smooth, jazz, saxophonist Euge Groove after several years away from the scene due to heart health. We’re glad he’s back, and back with a vengeance, bringing the same warm sounds that keep him in the hearts of many contemporary jazz fans. The title track is a sizzler, contrasting with warm ballads like “Those Nights Alone” and “At Peace”. We also enjoyed “Odysseus” and “Better Days”. Groove brings fresh sounds like he never missed a beat! Welcome back!
