O’s Notes: Producer Mark Winkler knows the formula for a winning recording. He starts with a swinging band with seasoned musicians and adds the formidable Joanne Tatham to provide vocals. She sings up front and center with passionate vocals that are crisp and clear. Guitarist Larry Koonse makes a guest appearance on “Summer in New York”. Max Haymer (p), Lyman Medeiros (b) and Dan Schnelle (d) are a rock solid rhythm section that keeps things upbeat and on time. Marcel Camargo (g) and Kevin Wizard (perc) add Latin flavor to a couple of tunes notably “Jazz ’n Samba”. But Tatham is the headliner and she shines all the way through the final track, “It Could Happen to You” featuring Bob Sheppard (sax)!
