O’s Notes: The Same Changes, Vol II is an album of original compositions by guitarist, arranger, and producer Connor O’Neill. Alex Delcourt (b), Steven Perry (d), and Morgan Walbridge (vibes) are his primary accompaniment. Melvin Toussaint (a-sax) is in his zone on “Gears” backed by soothing vibes and guitar accents. Jessica O’Neill adds vocals on “Early Departure” on top of Latin rhythms complemented by O’Neill’s buttery solo. We also enjoyed the strong interaction between O’Neill and pianist Micah Graves on “Singularity”. The music reflects Connor’s views and serves as an inspiration to recover and re-emerge from some of the recent pains we’ve all encountered.
