O’s Notes: Leonisa has a soft, gentle voice that she pairs with Chris Jennings (g), Jess Jurkovic (p), Justin Hines (d) and Bob Sabin or Bob Bowen on bass. The program is mostly relaxing standards with several originals. Hines has an excellent and lengthy solo on “Midnight Sun” leading a strings showing from the instrumentalists. “Blues On The Corner” featuring Jurkovic and Jennings’ “Queen of the Universe” are other highlights. Ardizzone uses blue tones with a breathless, almost desperate approach on several tunes that has limited appeal.
