O’s Notes: Since these guys got started, we have anticipated their albums and never been disappointed. The Standard is no exception as they continue to expand their repertoire with guest vocalists and some instrumentation. George Benson takes the vocal lead and adds guitar on “Straighten Up And Fly Right”. Jon Hendricks and Al Jarreau join Mark Kibble singing “Seven Steps To Heaven” with flugelhorn accents from Till Bronner. Who better to take the lead on “Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans” than Aaron Neville? Brian McKnight joins Mark for the R&B classic “What’s Going On”. And of course they scat and sing their usual harmonies on masterpieces like the inspirational “Back To You” written by Claude McKnight who shared they lead with Joey Kibble. It’s yet another dose of musical bliss from Take 6!
