O’s Notes: Todd plays tenor sax and composed a fresh set of bebop tunes that have the feel of late-1950s classics. He’s helped by a tight rhythm section including Anthony Wonsey (p), Jason Brown (d) and Dwayne Burno (b). Burno’s work is pronounced and driving but not overdone. It anchors the music. The program is new but very easy placed in bop space. We especially liked the title track and the mellow tones of “Years of Dreaming”.
