O’s Notes: Dom (g) developed a passion for vampires in the mid 1990s that spilled over into his writing. The Vampire’s Revenge is the culmination of these collective compositions presented on a 2-disc set. The space is occupied by a creative free fusion using many different instrumental arrangement and some vocals to achieve that eerie, mysterious feeling. Among the talented musicians who join the fray are Ken Filiano (b), Carol Mennie (vocals) and Matthew Shipp (p). It’s not all serious as some of the titles and lyrics are rather humorous especially “Just One More Bite”. There is lots of improvisation that at times gets chaotic but never fully gone. It is something completely different.
