O’s Notes: Conductor/composer Roland Vazquez gives us an exhilarating set of 6 originals and a cover of Clare Fischer’s “Guarabe”. The band is a large ensemble rich with brass and percussion including all-stars Joel Frahm (sax), Luis Perdomo (p), Pete McCann (g) and Samuel Torres (congas, perc). There songs are well developed and easy to enjoy repeatedly. Our favorites are “The Visitor”, “The Path of Change” and “Through A Window”, each in excess of ten minutes with a well-orchestrated story.
