O’s Notes: (also reviewed in 2001! 3/3) Palle composed and conducted the Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra in a tribute to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. The music was inspired my much of the works and the addition of Helen Davies (harp) and some dubbed techno-rock give the music a high degree of contrast. At times it is peaceful and then it’s brash and almost edgy. But it is always stimulating to the mind. The opener speaks of tranquility with Davies at her best. “The Forest” is our favorite, a layered powerful fusion piece but like any visit to a gallery, there’s generally something for everyone. It’s is a well done musical depiction of the museums art.
