O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Benoît Delbecq goes solo on his latest release, The Weight of Light. Listeners may find that hard to believe but the additional percussive sounds are all extracted from the piano with loop effects. This session speaks of abstract thoughts as Benoit meanders on a journey to somewhere more pleasant. The path becomes more defined on “Anamorphosis”, a track that we repeatedly returned to for inspiration.
