O’s Notes: This is the debut for Houston-based jazz vocalist Danielle Reich. She bounces along through a dozen standards backed by a swinging ensemble. What could have been a mundane regurgitation of tired standards struck our heart on “Alone Together” and then again on “Sabor A Mi” sung in Spanish, perhaps the best of the dozen selections. There are several songs done in the bolero style, one with hint of tango and mostly swinging cabaret. Reich is off to a good start!
