O’s Notes: Pianist Joan Stiles leads a trio with drummer matt Wilson and Joel Frahm on sax. Joan picks up the bass notes ad Matt emphasized the bass drum as ample substitute for a bass player. The arrangements are unique with free flowing improvisational solos that have lots of energy. We liked the upbeat “You Don’t Know What Love Is”, “O. W.” and “West End Boogie”. They conclude with “Bebopicity” wrapping up a fine set.
