O’s Notes: What’s better than hanging out, relaxing and having fun with your friends? Bassist Erik Applegate answers that question with an assemblage of trios composed of musicians that are friends. We like the title track with Greg Gilbert (t) and Dana Landry (p). Greg shows up again with Kenyon Breiner (sax) on “Eastside, Four-Thirty-Five”. Julia Dollison (vocals) joins Landry and Erik on “Back When It Was Fun” in contrast with the dynamic “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” featuring Julian Carey (voice) and Jim White (d, synths). These are some of the best here and in this case“Three’s A Crowd“is more a celebration of happy music!
