O’s Notes: Contemporary jazz fans around the globe loved the sweet, soulful jazz of Grover Washington, Jr., a true jazz legend. The performing artists are a who’s who in contemporary jazz including Ralph MacDonald (perc), Gerald Veasley (b), Andy Snitzer (sax), Eric Darius (sax), Buddy Williams. (d) and leader Jason Miles (keyboards). They perform many of the hits that made Grover a household name over a few decades! This is a live concert recorded at the Tokyo Blue Note, June 2010. Of note are “Inner City Blues”, “Winelight” and “Just The Two of Us” in a set with no losers! Miles recreates the magic; oh yeah, they cap the set with “Mr. Magic”.
