O’s Notes: Detroit native vocalist Kathy pays homage to four jazz divas from the 1940’s and 1950’s on her latest release. The Ladies of Cool are Anita O’Day, Julie London, June Christy and Chris O’Connor. Kathy does a great job recreating the passion and warmth of ten classics popularized by these singers. Her accompaniment is first class including pianist/arranger Tamir Hendelman and Gilbert Castallanos (t). We enjoyed “Don’t Wait Up For Me”, “Lullaby In Rhythm” and the bossa nova beats of “Where Are You”.
