O’s Notes: Chick (keyboards) persists with yet another good fusion performance. The players are Eric Marienthal (sax), Dave Weckl (d), John Patitucci (b) and Frank Gambale (g). They waste no time re-establishing the feel of past Corea Elektric Band projects with “Check Blast”. Following that intro, they move into more spacey fusion. The music was inspired by L. Ron Hubbard’s novel To The Stars, a science fiction saga. We have the story and the music. We’re only missing the movie.
