O’s Notes: All cool bop fans welcome this reunion. The warm, wispy tones of Jackson’s tenor sax in front of the ringing Hammond B3 create a romantic, almost eerie landscape. You can hear it full bloom on the medley of “September Song”, “Easy Living” and “Deep Purple”. Guitarist Bill Jennings also makes his presence known. The band plays quietly mesmerizing you with subtleties and accents. It’s nice. But the can also burn, as we see on “Gil’s Pills” and “Tu’gether”. Enjoy it.
