O’s Notes: Guitarist Tom Chang assembles a well-knit band to perform ten original fusion tracks. We felt the cool vibe of “Scatterbrain”, “Spinal Tap” and “Tongue & Groove” mixed with several more eclectic tunes. Chang shares melodies with Jason Rigby (tenor sax ) and Greg Ward (alto sax) while Chris Lightcap (b), Gerald Cleaver (d), Akshay Anatapadmanabhan (kanjira, mridangam) and Subash Chandran (konnakol) play counter syncopated rhythms. The music is unique, provocative and on the cusp!
