O’s Notes: Luis Perdomo is a Venezuelan born pianist, producer and composer who moved to New York 22 years ago at the age of 22. Twenty-Two is a reflection of his last 2 days in Caracas and his first 2 days in the USA! He assembles a fine trio with bassist/co-producer Mimi Jones and Rudy Royston on drums. They tackle the wealth of emotions felt in transition, particularly of a young budding musician contrasting two large but different cities. The groove is Latin, neobop. There is love, spice, pace, anticipation and regret all packaged into twelve selections performed passionately by excellent musicians.
