O’s Notes: Al Di Meola burst onto the music scene as a part of Return To Forever when he was 19 years old. He’s now 70, a heart attack survivor, and still one of the most prominent guitarist and composers around! Al’s style has always included elements of Spanish flamingo, jazz blended with fusion and this is no exception. His finesse and speed are unparalleled with exact definition and passion. Twentyfour illustrates more of the latter. Our favorite here is an updated take on the classic “Romantic Warrior” that features the entire band. But there is much to enjoy in the 15-song set.
