O’s Notes: These are some of the best compositions ever written. It is certainly amongst the best of the Hollywood scores. Mancini’s tunes not only highlighted the movies but also frequently took on a life of their own. There are 17 songs performed by the Ultimate Mancini Orchestra along with many all-star guest appearances. Joey DeFrancesco (B3) and Gary Burton (vibes) are featured on “The Pink Panther Theme”, Stevie Wonder (harmonica) and Take 6 (vocals) on Moon River, Kenny Rankin (v) and Tom Scott (sax) on “Dreamsville” along with Henry’s daughter Monica who sings on several songs. These artists highlight songs that we all know and love, making this an exceptional recording.
