O’s Notes: Tuey is a young balladeer who also plays guitar and banjo. He’s got a lot of style and a strong voice. His band really swings anchored by Henning Gailing (b) and Marcus Rieck (d) with Steve Klink providing excellent fills on piano. There is also some great sax work from Geof Bradfield especially on “Slowly Now”. There’s a warm country feel on “Why You Been Gone So Long” that is very inviting and a nice cover of “How Sweet It Is”. Connell’s music is fresh and different from the myriad of crooners on the scene.
