O’s Notes: Mosaic is a quintet led by Matt Belzer (winds) with Ned Judy (keyboards), Larry Melton (b), Mark Merella (d) and Dave Font (perc). Matt wrote most of the 7 tunes with two coming from Ned and one cover of Wayne Shorter’s “Sightseeing”. The program is predominantly mild fusion highlighted by the title track, a sedative piece.
