O’s Notes: This is a cool, relaxing instrumental set with ballads like “Skydive” and sultry burners like “Looking Ahead”. Wayne (sax) shares the melodies with Joe Locke (vibes) and they combine for some sweet duos on songs like “Bee Vamp”. Drummer Lewis Nash and Hans Glawischnig (b) make up the rest of the quartet. Wayne and Hans combine for a swinging stroll on “Isfahan” This is a live recording at Smoke in New York. The audience was treated to an enjoyable set that surely left them in a peaceful state.
