O’s Notes: Chilean saxophonist, bandleader and composer Melissa Adana makes her debut as a leader with“Visions, bordering on free jazz at times but mostly fusion with a few ballads. Sam Harris (p), Pablo Menares (b), Tommy Crave (d) and Joel Ross (vibes) join her. Sometimes the mood is melancholic as on ‘Abre Tus Ojos‘. Our favorites are the soft warm rendition of ‘Never Let Me Go‘ and ‘The Search‘.
