O’s Notes: Tenor saxophonist Jerry Cook assembles a fine quartet with Chris Gerstin (p), John Lee (b) and Jessie Cahill (d). Dave Sikula adds guitar on three tracks notably “Hello My Lovely” that also includes fine work by Lee and Cahill. Cook leads the way with warm tones in a set of ten swinging ballads on this Walk in the Park. “Smile” is an excellent example of the free-flowing cohesion between the musicians. We also enjoyed the fresh arrangements of “Summertime” and “Georgia On My Mind”.
